In the shadow of the continuing Covid pandemic, plans for the 2021 Multihull Solutions Regatta are confidently underway for another great event from 9th to 12th July.
Although last year missing many overseas participants due to harsh travel restrictions, the 2020 event was well supported by both local racing and cruising sailors and was the first post-Covid regatta to be held in Asia. Phuket Yacht Club and Asia Pacific’s leading Multihull brokerage Multihull Solutions are again collaborating in the drive to promote multihull sailing, both cruising and racing throughout Thailand and beyond.
PYC Commodore Scott Duncanson said “we are extremely happy to have Multihull Solutions onboard again as principal sponsors for the largest event on our racing calendar. 2020 was an extremely challenging year economically for many yacht clubs and we are very grateful for their continued support”
Although challenging times remain for hospitality and tourism related businesses on Thailand’s largest island, local boat builders and many marine equipment suppliers have seen an up-tick in business with numerous new local builds and re-fits being undertaken. It is expected that this increased local activity will be reflected in participant numbers when July 2021 rolls around.
Multihull Solutions GM, Andrew de Bruin, “We are always happy to support the Phuket Yacht Club with it’s hugely successful sailing school and efforts to get people on the water and enjoying Phuket’s awesome sailing conditions.
This will be our 8th time as principal sponsor of the event and we are very much looking forward to another long weekend gathering of multihull enthusiasts with close racing and listening to plenty of banter at the clubhouse later”
